NEW MOON IN VIRGO

SYDNEY: 10:53 am, September 7th

NEW YORK: 8:53 pm, September 6th

LONDON: 1:53 am, September 7th

LOS ANGELES: 5:53 pm, September 6th

Virgo hosts September’s new moon, and as the sign that rules health, it’s no surprise that your wellbeing is this month's top priority.

Address lingering ailments, especially if you’ve allowed routine checkups to slide. Sure, the world is preoccupied with a health crisis, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to miss your regular tune-ups. Skipping pap smears, skin checks and ignoring your body’s warning signals is never a good idea, and this especially true during September’s new moon.

Independent Uranus’ precise alignment puts a unique spin on things. The rebellious planet inspires radical change, enticing you to shake up your usual wellness routine. Swap your morning jog for a vinyasa flow. Try lifting weights rather than power walking. Or order a carrot, celery and ginger juice instead of a latte.

On the same day as the new moon, Mercury enters its retrograde shadow period. As La Luna’s ruler and the planet that governs your mind, Mercury spotlights the importance of mental health.

This new moon urges you to nourish your body and nurture your mind.

Virgo can be prone to excessive worrying, anxiety and nervous strain, and right now, acknowledging these issues is paramount. Although that’s easier said than done, the universe intends to put helpful people and enlightening situations under your nose. Take advantage of free resources, support groups and understanding besties - and don’t forget to pay it forward. When someone needs a shoulder to cry on, be there with open arms and a sympathetic heart.

If you’re struggling to stay mentally afloat, please reach out and ask for help. Because it’s okay to not be okay.
