We are in some pretty hectic times and although life can’t always be easy and smooth, we must remember that stress has a direct correlation to the increase of illnesses and deaths because it impacts our immune system.

4. Massage your body with lavender oil.

5. Yin Yoga, great for restoration: joint and tissue relaxation.

6. Burn some sage, lavender incense or palo santo.

7. Breathwork.

8. Journaling: write down who you forgive and what you you want to let go of.

9 Affirmations to support unity.

I am learning now, more than ever, that unity is a challenge to continuously maintain. Inside of ourselves as well as with others. Yoga has been my biggest teacher of Union because it has shown me that regardless of how my body and mind feel, I must accept it. Acknowledgement is the first step to unity.

There will always be times of division, particularly externally based on un-necessary labels. Sometimes we forget that behind the person we have labeled, there is heart and soul. Which can never be broken or concealed.

Here are 9 affirmations to support unity:

1. I am whole.

2. I do my best to hear others’ opinion without vilifying them.

3. I am allowed to feel how I feel- as long as I am not hurting anyone, including myself.

4. I am allowed to think how I think. As long as I am not hurting anyone, including myself.

5. I am supported by the people in my life.

6. I support the people in my life.

7. I am the continual Observer.

8. I can be right and wrong. If I am constantly the former or latter, I need to open my mind.

9. I am a human-being in a sea of other human-beings who are united as people who live on the same earth.

12 Ways that I have learnt to step into my abundance.

In the past year, I have seen my life transform in the best way possible. I have been able to manifest the life that I want. As a teacher, everything that I have learnt, I must pass on to those who it resonates with.

There are many ways to access abundance and, contrary to what many of us have been told, it has very little to do with money but with living a full and holistic life. Health, wealth and vitality can all be ours if we learn to tap into abundance.

Here are 12 ways that I stepped into my abundance:

1. By letting go of traditional and ancestral beliefs that are usually based on fear and pushing down someone else to succeed.

2. By asking, why not me?

3. By understanding that anyone is able to step into abundance. When someone else does, I am happy because it means that so can I. We rose together.

4. By manifesting, through visualization and feeling it into existence.

5. By releasing my manifestations into The Universe.

6. By accepting that I am a Co-Creator in my life.

7. By letting go of wrong and right.

 8. By surrounding myself with people and things that keep me in alignment.

9. By taking note of angel numbers (111;222:333...etc) that I see around me.

10. By remembering that it is all happening for my betterment. Whether I am aware of what my betterment is or not.

11. By seeing failure as re-direction.

12. By not taking anything personally.

5 helpful tips for meditation

Throughout my life, meditation has always been there. You might be thinking, obviously, right? However, what I mean is that, there had always been someone in my life who was trying to get me to meditate.

My aunt used to recommend it to me while I was writing my final exams of high school. So, I tried it. And then never did it again for the next 7 years. Although, I did yoga very consistently, I refrained from meditation. *Yoga and meditation are not the same.Yoga is recommended to be supplemented by it. However, asana (postures) and meditation are separate.

I finally decided to give meditation a go again when I had developed stress knots in my shoulders and jaws from tension. A fellow teacher recommended that it would help ease it.

So, I began. I began with merely 2 minutes a day- which felt so long. However, three years later, my 20 minute morning meditations feel like a breeze.

This is how I developed a solid meditation practice:

1. Patience with my mind.

Meditation teaches you patience. If you can't be patient with your mind, you will get frustrated during your meditation and it will do the opposite affect. Your mind is meant to think, it will have to adjust to meditation so give it time.

2. Find a comfortable position.

Meditation is more difficult when your body is uncomfortable. Many recommend sitting upright; however, I say as long as your back is straight, it's okay. Whether you are lying down or sitting up, a straight spines allows for chakra alignment and optimizes your meditation experience.

3. Start with short meditations.

As I mentioned before, I began with short meditations. This is so that your mind can adapt. Just like with running, your first day of training, you wouldn't run a mile. Meditation is also training, you are training your mind. In order to build a daily meditation, start with a few minutes a day.

4. Use YouTube for meditations.

YouTube is great for finding meditations. I recommend searching YouTube to find meditations that will help you through whatever you are going through. For example, if you are feeling anxious, search Meditations for anxiety.

5. You can always start again tomorrow

We have a tendency to do our best, which is great; however, when you begin meditation, you might not feel great as you still have to train your mind. You might feel as though you are disrupted a lot and, that is okay. Just know that tomorrow is another day for meditation and you don't have to NOT think about anything else to meditate. It's about bringing your mind back to where you are. Overtime, it will happen naturally. But, BE PATIENT.
